Destroying his legacy
Ronaldo has left the Portugal national team after a disagreement with the head coach, Jorge Jesus. Ronaldo has started throwing tantrums again, saying he feels left out.
He did this while playing for Manchester United in his second spell at the club, after feeling that Erik ten Hag did not play him against Tottenham, so he left the pitch, went to the dugout, and never played for Manchester United again.
Ronaldo always feels entitled to play every game, and he was the reason Portugal didn’t go far in the World Cup because he believed he was the only one who could make things happen. For a long time, he has hurt the Portuguese team because he feels he has to play every single game and can never be subbed off.
This is wrong, as he is destroying the opportunities of young, talented players in the Portuguese team. Jorge Jesus is right not to play him, something that Roberto Martinez was afraid of, and this cost the team in the World Cup.
Ronaldo is now saying that he is going to tell the truth. He could go and do another interview with Pier Morgan and tell the truth about how they did not want him to play in the game, even though he couldn’t score against Wales in the Nations League when he had ample chances but missed all of them. Messi has now called time on his international duty, and maybe Ronaldo needs to do the same.
He is now becoming the GOAT who throws tantrums when he does not get his way, and this needs to stop, as it is destroying his legacy and becoming embarrassing. Ronaldo has nothing to prove, and he certainly doesn’t need to play for the money.
He needs to leave the game before the game leaves him. He has won countless trophies and does not need to show that he can still do it at the age of 41. Become a pundit and collect the pundit’s cheques; or become a coach and collect the coach’s salary.
