The Lazy Way
At the moment, Apple is fooling everyone, including its investors, shareholders, and customers. Apple’s refusal to significantly enhance its hardware products is now a cause for concern, as many suspect that the company is simply manipulating the marketplace and its customers. Although the focus has now shifted to its AI platform, Apple will not be the leading consumer choice for AI. Most of Apple’s consumers do not even use Siri, as the software is outdated and lacks clarity.
One of the reasons why Tim Cook has left the company as of September 2026 is because he is incapable of innovating Apple hardware. Since the death of Jobs, Cook has capitalised on Jobs’ innovations and merely made a few tweaks to make products more appealing to consumers. The focus on software does not create a strong appeal for Apple because Google has better and more sustainable software than Apple.
Apple has built its brand primarily on its hardware, and people do not buy Apple products because of iOS but because of the engineering and aesthetic appeal of the hardware. Cook has changed this model, and this business strategy could hurt the company if the new CEO does not implement a fresh strategy to remain competitive in the market.
Creating product variants is not a good model because the Apple Neo is a good base model for the Mac, but it is not as unique as the Mac or iPhone were when Jobs first introduced them. Most consumers do not even use the Siri application, and it is powered by Google Gemini even suggests that Apple is not creating its own software ecosystem to make Siri a truly independent product.
Innovations are needed rather than simply creating variations to fool consumers. AirPods with cameras are largely pointless, and the Retina display on the new MacBook is nothing new. As Nvidia continues to climb the ladder with its new technologies, it appears that Apple could be left behind.
