He’s just a surplus now
Cristiano Ronaldo’s accomplishments are remarkable and set a standard few can match. However, the current Portuguese team may not benefit from his style, as he prefers to have the ball at his feet and doesn’t align with manager Jorge Jesus’s tactical approach. While his legacy as a football legend is secure, the team’s needs have evolved.
Cristiano Ronaldo has accomplished much in his career, both individually and with the Portuguese national team, including winning the Nations League and the European Championship.
At this stage, financial incentives are no longer his priority. However, football is increasingly a young person’s game, and it may be time for Ronaldo to step aside and let the next generation develop.
The Portuguese team doesn’t need Ronaldo; they have young, talented players who can play a good brand of football and certainly don’t need Ronaldo to mess up their formation just to create a new path for him to play.
This is the new school, and Ronaldo should retire, certainly for the Portuguese national team, as it feels like they don’t need him anymore.
Young players are coming up, and they can flourish under the new management team. Ronaldo needs to retire, as he is doing things that only draw negative attention to him.
There is no doubt Ronaldo will not be called the GOAT. Messi has retired, and it’s time for Ronaldo to leave the game, at least on the international scene.
